UCSD, Biological and Physical Science Building

Twining served as the Geotechnical Engineer of Record on this project and also provided all materials testing and special inspections. Twining scope included providing concrete inspections, sampling and testing during night/early morning concrete pours. The primary method of construction was shotcrete, reinforced concrete, and structural steel.
The Boardwalk

Twining provided a full range of services for this multi-phase project, which included the construction of the north office building, south office building, parking structure, and related support buildings
OC Great Park

The Orange County Great Park is a public park located in Irvine, California with a focus on sports, agriculture, and the arts. Twining was contracted to perform comprehensive testing and inspection services.

CSULB, College of Continuing & Professional Education

The CCPE entails 20 modern general classrooms, a large conference center, and support spaces, as well as outdoor gathering areas for the CSULB community. Twining was selected to provide a full range of services, including geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and deputy inspection for a new classroom addition to the CCPE. We provided the testing and inspection of soils, reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and structural steel welding.
Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort

This project encompassed an 307,230 gross-square-foot expansion and renovation to The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel, in Huntington Beach. The addition added 152 new hotel rooms to the existing 290-guestroom hotel and the renovation work on the existing hotel included remodeling the lobby and porte cochere spaces. Twining assumed the role of Geotechnical Engineer of Record and provided geotechnical observation, materials testing, and deputy inspection.

Petersen Automotive Museum

In 2015, the museum underwent an extensive $125 million renovation. The building’s façade was redesigned by the architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox, and features a stainless-steel ribbon assembly made of 100 tons of 14-gauge type 304 steel in 308 sections, 25 supports, and 140,000 custom stainless-steel screws. Twining performed material testing and special inspection services in support of the installation and upgrade at of the exterior facade at the Petersen Automotive Museum. 
Sony 8-Story Office Building

Sony Pictures Entertainment, Inc. constructed a 236,269 square foot, eight-story office building that houses offices, conference rooms, and support areas. Twining performed testing and inspections on placement of compacted fill, foundation work, rebar placement, structural steel, welding, concrete construction, installation of expansion type and adhesive type bolts, concrete masonry and high strength bolted connections.
Great Wolf Lodge

Twining provided structural inspections and materials testing services for the hotel lobby, water park, and parking structure. Twining also provided stormwater and inspection management services on behalf of the construction management firm.
Culver City Unified School District, Robert Frost Auditorium Expansion

Twining was selected to provide a full range of services for the new auditorium. We provided soil observations and testing, as well as material testing and inspection services.
