Westfield Topanga & The Village
The Village is the first in the West Valley to be a pedestrian-friendly, open-air environment, rather than a climate-controlled enclosed mall. It will be anchored by a Costco which is planned to be single level with mezzanine and will be approximately 153,000 square feet.
With the Outdoor Village completed, Westfield as now begun another ambitious project, the modernization and expansion of the Westfield Topanga Entertainment District. In all the mall will be 180,000-sq.-ft. indoor and outdoor district featuring a chef-driven Food Hall with sit-down restaurants, sleek lounges and cocktail bars, unique interior and exterior boutiques, and landscaped indoor and outdoor public spaces. Sixty-plus new tenants will satisfy new public tastes and preferences in the district, among them a 7,500-sq.-ft. Hermès boutique, a 20,734-sq.-ft. Arhaus showroom, a 12-screen new-format AMC Theatres, and a Pinstripes entertainment center.
Twining provided materials testing and inspection services for the Costco, retail, and parking structure projects at the Village. We are also providing materials testing and inspection services during the expansion of the Entertainment District. This includes the inspection of reinforced concrete and rebar, structural steel/field welding, non-destructive examination, masonry, post-tensioned concrete, fireproofing, drilled and pneumatic anchors, shear wall nailing, metal decking, studs, angles and mullions, light gauge metal framing/storefronts, curtain, and window wall. We are providing laboratory testing of concrete, reinforcing steel, mortar, grout, brick, block, fireproofing, stressing cables, bolts nuts, and washers. In addition to providing materials testing and inspection services, Twining is currently serving as geotechnical engineer of record for these projects. As geotechnical engineer of record, we provide testing and engineering oversight of the rough grading and surcharging. We are providing geotechnical laboratory testing, and soils inspection services.
